Pirkan Soutu and newspaper Aamulehti arrange for the first time in history a race for the gottage boats (or fishing boats). Airon Män needs not only good condition, but also attitude. If you dare to face the wawes of Pyhäjärvi alone with not so fine boat, you surely are an Airon Män.. After the race one of the competitors will be rewarded as “The Airon Män of the year”. Airon Män is ment not only for men; ladies with the right attitude are warmly welcomed!

For the first time there are three divisions in Church Boat series: Open/Men, Women and Mixed (the boat contains at least 7 woman rowers). The church boats will start at 10.15 AM.

Would´nt it be nice to be able to row with the traditional finnish church boat…Most of us have no opportunity to find a team or the boat to make this kind of dream come true. Now it is possible. We have great boats with moving seats and professional steermen waiting for you. Teams will be compiled from single participants and the route is 35 km long.

Trip Rowing Event will be held on Wednesday, August 1st. There is no timing system. You’re free to choose the route but the length depends on a boat and it should be at least same as in the main event.

Every boat receive a boat card and are then free to roam the lake with their own time schedule. Boat cards are available at Hatanpää’s Rowing Center (Hatanpäänkatu 6) between 8 AM to 5 PM. Please return the boat card to the Rowing Center after completing your route.

Church boat teams are formed of individuals participants during the Trip Rowing Event. There are two starting times: 9 AM and 5 PM. If you’re looking forward to join one of the Church Boat teams please register before July 28th.
