Pirkka Cycling welcomes you all to enjoy the atmosphere of Finland's biggest cycling event! Usually we have had over 3000 participants and this year we expect even more!
You can choose between four different tracks: Pirkka Tour (217km), Classic Tour (134km), Pirkka's Pyhä (40km) and "The Little one" (4km). You can also participate with rollerskates to Pirkka and Classic tracks.
If you are going to cycle the 217km track you can take part in special average speed groups (36km/h, 34km/h, 32km/h, 30km/h or 28km/h). Every group has its own leader to maintain the speed. In Classic Tour (134km) it's possible to choose a start group according to a target time (under 5, 6 or 7 hours). With both tracks it's also possible to cycle "without clock" with your own speed!
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
Registration to Pirkka Cycling is available at our website under the “Ilmoittautuminen”-title. With the registration you´ll be given a reference number. With this reference number you can pay the entry fee in Finland. Entry fees should be payed at the same time with registration. For those who have paid the entry fees beforehand (until May 26th) we will send start numbers by mail to home address (in Finland). Online registration ends June 4th.

Should extraordinary circumstances prevent an event taking place, the organisers reserve the right to retain a part of the entry fee.
THE ENTRY FEE INCLUDES
- Pasta meal with live music for 300 first participants on Sat 10th June from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

- Bicycle repair service (there is a charge for the spare parts)

EVENT LOCATION, TIMETABLES AND TRACKS
The start and finish areas are located at Hakametsä Ice Hockey Hall in Kaleva (Keltinkatu 2, Tampere). The event office opens on Sunday at 6.30 a.m. and finish is closed at 8.00 p.m. There are 30 cyclist in each cycle group. There is no time taking in Pirkka Cycling.
Pirkka Tour, 217km
The start is at 7.20 a.m. (average speed groups first). The fastest cyclists make it to the finish line in under 6 hours, but the maximum race time is 12.5 hours. There are 8 service points along the track.
You can take part in special average speed groups with the average speed 36, 34, 32, 30 or 28 km/h. Every group has its own leader to maintain the speed. These groups are lead by Kaupin Kanuunat ry, a local cycling club. The groups are filled in the order of registration, max 45 people in one group. It is also possible to cycle “without clock” with your own speed.
Pirkka Tour (217km) ) goes from Tampere through Ylöjärvi, Hämeenkyrö, Kuru, Murole and Terälahti around Lake Näsijärvi, ending in Tampere.
Classic Tour, 134km
The start is at 8.00 a.m. There are 5 service points along the route. With Classic Tour it is possible to choose a start group according to a collective target time (under 5h at 8 a.m., under 6h at 8.20 a.m., under 7h at 8.40 a.m. and under 8h at 9.00 a.m.). These groups have no leaders. Groups starting after that have no target times.
Classic Tour (134km) goes from Tampere through Ylöjärvi, Kuru, Murole and Terälahti around Lake Näsijärvi, ending in Tampere.
Pirkka's Pyhä, 40 km
The start will be at 10.30 a.m. There is one service point along the route.
The route suits for all those, who haven’t cycled so much. The route goes mainly along pedestrian walkways, so it fits also for the young members of the family.
The Little One, 4 km
The start is from 10.30 a.m. onwards. The Little One is suitable for little children and those with different cycling challenges.
Pirkka Inline Skating
With long tracks (217 and 134km) it is possible to participate with inline skates, with or without the poles. The start times are same as for cyclists. There is no time taking in Pirkka Inline Skating.
Night Cycling, 134km in Finnish summer night!

Idyllic Night Cycling around Lake Näsijärvi is getting more popular every year. Over 300 participants enjoy of the calm, light and peace of the Finnish summer night with the 134km track.
Night Cycling is held on Friday-Saturday night, one week after Pirkka Cycling. No time taking, no rush, just a Finnish summer night as beautiful and light as it can be. The start is at Hakametsä Ice Hockey Hall on Friday evening at 9 p.m. and the finish is closed at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning. The route is the same as Classic Tour in Pirkka Cycling. The only service point is in Murole, where a soup meal is served. Our event office at the Ice hall opens at 8 p.m.
EVENT OFFICE AT THE START
Event office at Hakametsä Ice Hockey Hall is open on Saturday June 10th from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 6.30 a.m. onwards. You can register to all tracks until the start time.
Pirkka Tour has 8, Classic Tour 5 and Pirkka's Pyhä one service points (you can find them on the map). The Little One's participants are given free snack packs at the start. It is possible to fill your own drink bottles before the start.
PHOTOS ALONG THE WAY
The organiser may use photos taken along the way for marketing purposes. If you wish that no photos of you are used, please contact our office.
If the registration is cancelled due to sickness, you get a refund (minus 8,50 EUR administrative expenses). Please send us a sick note. It is also possible to transfer the entry fee to the next year.

Tour De Pirkka includes Pirkka Skiing, Cycling, Rowing and Jogging events. If you participate in all our events during the same year and ski 90km, cycle 134km, row 33km and jogg 35km, you will nominated as a "Pirkankiertäjä".
