THE 54th PIRKKA JOGGING EVENT ON SUNDAY 6th OCTOBER AND TALKOOHÖLKKÄ ON SUNDAY 13th OCTOBER

Pirkka Jogging will be held on October 6rd, 2024.

2. ENTRY FEE INCLUDES

  • Transportation of extra clothing and personal equipment from Valkeakoski (start) to Tampere (finish)

3. EVENT INFORMATION & REGISTRATION

The start of Pirkan Hölkkä is at 9:30 AM from Saharan Field in Valkeakoski (Tallikatu 11).

The start of Pirkan Kieppi is at 11:30 AM from the TAKK yard (Kurssikeskuksenkatu, Nirva).

Children under the age of 15 only accompanied by an adult.

Late registrations for Pirkan Hölkkä can be done at Saharan Field from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and late registrations for Pirkan Kieppi at TAKK from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Payment methods for late registration include cash, MobilePay, exercise benefit apps, and card.

4. RACE MATERIALS

You can pick up the race materials (including the participant number) from the Tampereen Taivaltajat office at:

Amurinkatu 9, 33230 Tampere on September 26th from 2 PM to 5 PM, September 27th from 4 PM to 8 PM, and September 28th from 10 AM to 1 PM, OR from Nirva on Saturday, October 5th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, OR at the starting location on October 6th from 8:00 AM onwards.

WE DO NOT MAIL THE MATERIALS.

5. ARRIVAL

To the starting area at Saharan Field in Valkeakoski by your own car, bus back after the race ⇒

  • There is parking space for private cars at Saharan Field. After the race, we organize paid transportation (10 euros) back to Valkeakoski at 2 PM and 4 PM.

To the starting area with a shared bus from the finish area in Tampere’s Nirva, your car waiting after the race ⇒

  • TAKK’s own parking spaces are available for us all day. A paid bus transport (10 euros) leaves from the finish area in front of TAKK from 8:00 AM to 8:15 AM. Departures are as the buses fill up.

To the starting area with a shared bus from Tampere city center, bus back after the race ⇒

  • A paid bus transport (10 euros) leaves from Tampere Keskustori, in front of the Old Church, from 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM. Departures are as the buses fill up. After the event, buses run from the finish area to Tampere city center approximately every hour.

6. SERVICE POINTS

The 33 km route has six service points: Leppäjärventie, Rutajärvi, Vähä-Kausjärvi, Taivalpirtti, Vormisto and Hervanta. You can find the service points on the google map at Pirkka Jogging’s front page. The service points Taivalpirtti, Vormisto and Hervanta have closing times. A participant who doesn’t reach service point before closing time must discontinue. There is a transportation for those who discontinue the race.

7. AFTER CROSSING THE FINISH LINE

  • When you cross the finish line you receive a medal of Pirkan Hölkkä and possible prizes depending on your placing
  • The clothes and other belongings you left at the start can be found at the finish area
  • Showers and dressing rooms at TAKK
  • The entry fee also includes sauna and swimming possibility at Kaleva Swimming Center until 5.30 p.m. Please show your race number for free entry
  • Food is served at Tampereen Kauppahalli (Tampere Market Hall)
  • The results can be found afterwards from the website of Pirkan Kierros. For a printed copy of the results please contact our office

8. PRIZES

The winners of competition categories will be rewarded with trophy cups. Five best in the overall competition and in age categories will also be rewarded with engraved medals and other prizes. All participants get the medal. There is also lots of lottery prizes.

9. CANCELLATIONS

If you cancel your participation we will not refund your entry fee. A medical certificate (due an illness or injury etc.) must be provided to us in order to push your participation for the following year.

If the event must be cancelled due to force majeure or other extraordinarily difficult circumstances, the organiser reserves the right to keep 30 % of the entry fees to cover some of the existing costs and the expenses caused by returning the entrance fees.

10. PHOTOS OF THE PARTICIPANTS

The organiser may use photos taken along the routes during the events for different marketing purposes. If you wish that photos of you are not used, please contact our office.
